Tor

Jonathan gives us stories to play with

Jonathan Lethem has started something he calls the Promiscous Materials Project.

These stories are for filmmakers or dramatists to adapt. They’re available non-exclusively -- meaning other people may be working from the same material -- and the cost is a dollar apiece.

There’s a simple written agreement to sign, which imposes a couple of restrictions, and that's it -- once you've paid your dollar and signed the agreement, you're free to adapt or mutate the story as you please.

Open source philosophy applied to literature. Muy bueno!

I guess it's unnecessary to mention that he's a genius author too? If in doubt, check out Motherless Brooklyn.

Steve Bell nails it.

Mickey, the beast in the Revelations. Enjoy.

Boktid pilot

Just saw the pilot for Boktid - the tv programme i am making comics for. It's fantastic, makes me wonder why there's so few programmes about literature on tv.

This stuff should be mandatory. Proud to be part of this.

Have you got Have You Got It Yet? yet?

Fans of early Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett will be glad to know that internet group the Laughing Madcaps just released volume 1 and 2 of Syd Barrett compilation Have You Got It Yet. It's great, it's chock-full of mind-melting sonics, fractured lyrics and it's free. Including gems like the Peel session of Scream Thy Last Scream, unavailable anywhere else.
